Our free literacy program serves both adults and families. Our tutors can help with:

  • Tutoring for Children and Adults
  • GED and HiSet Test Preparation
  • Computer and Job Skills
  • Resume Building
  • Citizenship Test Preparation
  • Financial Literacy
  • Studying for para-professional tests

Become a Tutor

Shasta Literacy's volunteer tutors provide the keys to our learners' success!

Tutors are carefully matched with learners and provided with free training and support. Tutors and learners typically meet once a week for one to two hours.

No Experience Necessary.

The Need for Better Literacy

Why would an adult have low reading and writing skills? Why is it vital to our community to improve these skills? Because reading is essential for survival in today's world, and a prerequisite for being a productive community member.
