Wireless Internet Access

The Shasta Public Libraries have wireless internet access available at no charge to anyone with Wi-Fi enabled laptops and wireless devices. Wi-Fi is available at all three branches.
Wi-Fi users must configure their own equipment.

Public Access Computers

Shasta Public Libraries offers free public access computers at all three locations. All of our public computers are available for research or leisure, and our children's public computers are loaded with several fun and educational games.

Genealogy Computers

The Redding Library offers two computers dedicated to genealogy research. These computers are available anytime the Redding Library is open.

Volunteers from the Shasta Genealogical Society are available every Tuesday from 10am-12pm, Wednesday from 1pm-3pm, and Saturday from 1pm-3pm to offer trained help in genealogical research.

Computer Center

The Redding Library offers a full featured computer and technology instructional center used for our computer classes, as well as being reservable by non-profit organizations.

The Computer Center has twenty student PCs with CD rewritable drives, Windows 10 and installed software for learning and instructional purposes. The Computer Center also has an instructor's computer that is connected to an overhead projector and built in speakers throughout the room.


The Redding Library provides utilities and services for the disabled including: the Sorenson VP200 video phone, and an ADA software and hardware enabled computer. Find out more.
